Privacy Policy

HomeTick ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Offline-First Guest Mode & Local Data

By default, HomeTick runs locally on your device without requiring you to create an account or provide any personal information. All homes, areas, appliances, tasks, schedules, and completion histories created in Guest Mode remain exclusively on your local device storage.

2. Diagnostics, Analytics & Optional Account Sign-In

To ensure application stability, diagnose crashes, and improve user experience, HomeTick collects performance diagnostics and usage metrics via Google Firebase:

• Anonymous in Guest Mode: When using the app as a guest, crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and usage metrics (Firebase Analytics) are collected anonymously without any personal identifiers (no email, no account UID).
• Linked Upon Sign-In: If you choose to enable cloud synchronization by signing in with Apple, Google, or Email, usage analytics are associated with your account User ID (UID) to support cross-device session continuity and debugging. We also store your account email and synced household data (homes, appliances, tasks) in encrypted Cloud Firestore.
• User Control (Opt-Out): You can turn off Analytics & Diagnostics collection at any time directly in the app via Settings → Data & Privacy → Analytics & Diagnostics.
• Zero Advertising & No Tracking: We do not collect advertising identifiers (zero IDFA), display no advertisements, and never track your activity across third-party apps or websites.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide core chore and maintenance tracking services.
• To synchronize your household data across your authenticated devices.
• To send local notification reminders that you have configured (local only, no remote push tokens).
• To diagnose crashes and improve application performance.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You have full ownership of your data at all times:

• In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. This immediately re-authenticates your identity, revokes your Apple authorization token (for Apple Sign-In accounts), cascades the permanent purge of all your cloud homes, tasks, and data in Firestore, deletes your Firebase Auth credentials, and wipes all local storage on your device.
• Data Export: You can export your full data in standard JSON format at Settings → Data & Privacy → Export My Data.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) as a secure infrastructure processor for authentication, encrypted cloud database storage, crash reporting, and analytics. Data is transmitted securely over TLS/HTTPS encryption.
